I am so sorry to read of the loss of Richard. I knew "Dickie" when we were all children on Wellington Avenue. I moved at age 12 but I will always remember the fun we had - climbing trees (how to get down!) and playing cars in the sand (dirt) between the houses. My sincere sympathy to Jackie, Peggy and Kenny and all the Champlin family. We will one day climb trees again. Rest in Peace Richard.
I was unaware of the loss of Billy and Bobby
until I read this obit. My heart goes out to all of you. Love, Shirley

So Sorry for your loss.

Richard "Dickie" Champlin - 01/29/2015

I write this not for people to read but for my self satisfication. I still read your obit and all the nice things people have said and feel. I try to be the man you were and I struggle. I miss you so much Pops! I see how everyday life stressed you out. Trying to make ends meet aint always as easy as it sounds. Things would just be so much easier if you were here. You were my go to guy, you motivated me. You gave me the confidence I needed. Now when I talk to you, I can't hear you talk back. It feels like such a curse and punishment to not hear your voice anymore. I dedicated 2014 to you. Married, House, and Baby Leah. I know thats all you wanted for me, and that your so proud of me. I just need to hear it, I miss your voice, your sarcasim, your advice, and most of all your love. I try to be strong for my girls, Sheri, Haley, and Leah. I'm just so stressed out, mentally and physically. Bottom line is I wish you were here, it's not fair to your Grandchildren that aren't gonna remember thier time with Papa, and the ones that didn't have time with thier Papa. Because you had so much love to give! Mom is doing so good, she is so strong. I'll lean on her soon, just making sure shes good before I break. The breaking is happening more and more for me lately. I have it under control, but its weighing pretty heavy. I just try and relax and think about how happy you were with your family, and it calms me. My rant is done. I love you Pops, and miss you dearly. You are truely one of a kind, and will FOREVER be missed. Love Dickie
