Hazel L. Cooney
Hazel L. Cooney 91, died Thursday January 16, 2014 at Kent Hospital after a long illness. Born November 27, 1922 in North Hampton, Iowa she was the daughter of Ole Jerdee and Bertha (Otteson) Jerdee. She was the wife of the late James W. Cooney. Mrs. Cooney was a resident of Cranston, Rhode Island for the past 60 years and worked for 25 years in the Customer Service Department at Sears. Hazel is survived by her sons Richard (Mary Ann) Cooney of Saunderstown, RI and Henry (Sandra) Cooney of Burrillville, RI. She also leaves three grandchildren, Michael Cooney of Richmond, RI; Catherine Cooney of Saunderstown, RI; and Erik Lundblad of North Smithfield, RI. She loved spending summer time at the family retreat at Pettaquamscutt Lake in Narragansett, RI, was an experienced seamstress, great pie maker and avid movie fan. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 25, 2014 at 10:00am in the Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Johnston. In lieu of flowers donations to Home & Hospice Care 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.

Aunt Hazel had the best laugh-I remember that first when I think of her.Family meant everything to her-she was so proud of her children and grandchildren.She will be missed!

Sad to hear this news...I worked with Hazel for years at Sears. She was a great lady always ready to laugh. We had such good times together there. She will always remain in my heart.
