Lori Ann Gooden

Gooden, Lori Ann (DeCesare) 49, of North Kingstown died peacefully at home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late James F. Gooden who died in the Station Night Club Fire of 2003. Born in Providence to Leroy and Norma (Iacchei) DeCesare she lived in Cranston most of her life before moving to North Kingstown in 2010. Lori is survived by her daughters Jessica and Lauren Iacobucci. She also leaves a sister Leslie DecCesare Graham and her husband Bill Graham. She will be deeply missed by her partner of three years Bill Griswold. Lori also leaves three loving nephews, one adoring niece, and a grandniece whom she taught to cal her “Auntie Goddess”. Lori worked as a Branch Manager for Citizens Bank for many years, first at the Rolfe Street Branch and later at the Warwick Plaze Branch. Roman Catholic and deeply spiritual, she was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Cranston. She had a great love for the ocean and was an active member of the East Greenwich Yacht Club. Most recently Lori and Billy enjoyed long rides on their motorcycles and she became a member of the US Veterans Motorcycle Club RI Ladies Auxiliary. Lori had a passion for life that lead her to travel frequently often accompanied by family and close friends. She had an ever present smile and deep concern for others, even in her illness; she was an inspiration to everyone that met her. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 8:30am from the Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church Oaklawn Avenue Cranston at 10:00am. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00-8:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Brown University Oncology Research Group (BRUOG) Attn: Kayla Rosati BRUOG Division of Biology and Medical Brown University Box GR001 Providence, RI 02912 the research organization of her devoted doctor Howard Safran would be appreciated.

Lori, my best friend every time you walked into the room you always lit it up with your positivity. You never allowed anything to stop you from doing what made you happy. The memories we have shared are timeless~ no one will ever understand the madness behind our crazy stories and our inside jokes. You were not just my best friend we were like sisters and always there for me when things got hard.
The vacations we took and the late night conversations ~laughs~stories can never be taken away!
Although we can't see you I know your standing right beside me.
I know in my heart just like the past 18 years you will STILL never leave my side.
Our memories will live on forever, stories will always be engraved in my heart.
I love you Lori ~my best friend. May you rest in peace. It's not good-bye ~It's till we meet again.

Jessica, Lauren, and family~I am so very sorry for your loss.

Lori, it's a blessing just to have known you. I'm so glad that we got to see the world together and that you played such massive role in my life. I couldn't have asked for a better second mom. You always saw the best in people and tried to help as many people as you could. Such a selfless action from such a truely amazing person. Lauren and Jessica are brave fighters. They get that from their mother. No matter what happens whether good or horrible, I will be there for them no matter what! Lori, Lauren, and Jessie I love you all so much.
