Tom had an uncanny memory for details regarding people and past events and a genuine concern for his many friends, classmates, and family.
He was always "upbeat" and exhibited exceptional inner fortitude during his courageous fight. He will be missed and never forgotten.
Arlene Fitz-Simon - 08/30/2014
Tom was the most wonderful, loving brother-in-law
I could have had. I will miss him terribly. He will always be I in my heart.
Michelle Whitaker - 08/30/2014
I was one of the lucky ones to call him Family. My Uncle Tom has made me feel special and loved all my life, even though we never lived very close. He has not only been there for my brother and I, but he let my children know they were loved and thought about also.
He was always there with a positive attitude no matter what the situation. I have never once heard him complain. I want to be the kind of person my uncle was. He will be loved and missed by me. I hold comfort that he is watching from above, with my grandparents and my brother. I am sending my love to my family and letting them know they are in my thoughts and prayers.
We love you all,
Michelle, Shannon, Chelsea, Haley & Ella

Tom will be terribly missed. My dad Daniel considered Tom his best friend. His genuine friendship, his smile always and those muffins that he brought to the barber shop every morning for my dad. He was an amazing man and friend. He has done so much for my family and never asked for anything in return. That's a child of God. May The Lord bless him and his family in this time of loss. You will be missed dearly Tom.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. Tom was a wonderful friend and neighbor. Always had a kind word for everyone. I spent countless evenings in the Pub, through good and bad times in my life, often with my Mom and step-dad, chatting. Always made me / us laugh. When we spoke of 'politics', I will never forget his saying: "only in America." Still makes me smile. If the neighborhood needed anything when he was Councilman - it got done. May time bring peace and healing...your Dad was a wonderful human being and I am proud to have known him.

Sympathies to Mr. Fitz-Simon's family and friends. He and my late Dad were good friends. I can remember him from Dolan's - he always had a smile, put up with the 'kids' and liked to tease us - a great sense of humor! He and Kathy loved kids and put on a great show for Halloween - my now adult children still remember the effort and fun they provided. Truly a man for all seasons. His accomplishments as a person extend beyond any job. The impact he made on so many can't be listed. R.I.P., Mr. Fitz-Simon.
