I am very sorry to hear that Nellie has passed on. She and Beverly Wiley were the cousins we(my sister Gayle and I) got to know best when our parents brought us to Rhode Islands in the summers many years ago. We got together a couple of times in recent years. I am very sorry for your loss.

Nellie always had a smile for me. We became quite close when I was a fellow at Brown, especially sharing secrets behind closed doors. We had mutual love for the arts and kept trying to make plans to see a play together. Her loss is felt miles away. My deepest condolences to you all. I know every time I go to the theatre now, she will be watching with me.

Mr. Gillen and William, I am so sad to hear of Mrs. Gillen's death. I had the pleasure of meeting her only once, at a school function last year, and I liked her right away. May God have brought her to heaven immediately, with all of our dear loved ones. May Our Lord and His Mother comfort you and keep you in their care. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy to Nellie’s family, Nellie was a wonderful friend to me and the rest of the VA Family. I loved having some wonderful conversations with her. She was always an uplifting person to me, if I ever had a difficult day, speaking to Nellie would always make it easier to go on with my day. I’m a better person knowing Nellie. The only issue I had with Nellie is her being a Pittsburg Steeler fan and I being a Patriots fan, we still were friends. I will miss her very much. God Bless,
