R. Vivian Johnson
Johnson, R. Vivian, 97 went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 27, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred D. Johnson with whom she was married for 68 treasured years. Cherished Mom of Pam Anderson of Cranston and Philip Johnson of St. Petersburg, Florida. Grandmother to Eric and wife Robin Anderson and Lisa and husband Steven Bailey. Adored by her great grandchildren Noah, Joshua, Anderson, and Wesley. Vivian was very active in her church, the Covenant Congregational Church in Riverside, RI. She sang in the choir, was church secretary, taught Sunday School and was on various commmittees. She loved to bake and garden and she always had fresh flowers and homemade treats on the kitchen table. Most important to Vivian was sharing her love of Jesus through her kind acts and deeds. Friends and relatives are invited to visit the family on Tuesday May 1st from 4:00-7:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A Memorial Service will held on Wednesday May 2nd at 1:00pm in the Ocean State Baptist Church 600 Douglas Pike Smithfield. Burial will be private. Memorial gifts in Vivian's name may be made to Steere House (Activities Department) 100 Borden Street Providence, RI where she was lovingly cared for until she entered heaven's gates!

Dear Pam and Phil and families, I have such deep and enduring memories of your mom and dad at Covenant Congregational Church. Your mom epitomized warm, gracious, and thoughtful friendship. She truly lived her faith, not on her sleeve but through acts of love. The Burgoyne family gives thanks to God for Vivian (and Al) and lifts you up in prayer during your grief. May the peace of Christ sustain you. We love you!
