Robert J. Langevin
Robert J. Langevin 49, of West Warwick passed away at The Phillip Hulitar Hospice Center on August 11, 2016 after a short illness. Born in Westerly, Robert grew up in Warwick and graduated from Coventry High School. He resided in West Warwick for over twenty years. He was a communicant of St. John and James Church in West Warwick. He worked at the Arctic Laundromat in West Warwick. Robert was very generous to everyone. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and reading the newspaper. He particularly loved the holidays. He loved to laugh and joke around and always had a smile on his face. Robert was a hard worker who loved his job at the laundromat. You would usually see him with a coffee in his hand and scratch tickets hanging out of his pocket. In three weeks of hospitalization, not once did he complain about his illness, except to say he needed to get back to work. The thing that made him truly happy was to do something nice for someone else. Robert was the son of Richard Langevin Sr. and the late Carol (LaPlante) Langevin. He was the brother of Barbara Valletta and her husband Joseph of Cranston, and Richard Langevin and his partner Teri Shannon of Warwick. He also leaves nieces and nephews: Robert and Steven Blair, Ronald Rastella, Shane Langevin, Isabella and Gabrielle Valletta as well as many friends who loved and took care of him, who also became like family. He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Phillip Hulitar Hospice Center are appreciated. Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 15th at 6:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Visitation will be held one hour prior tho the service beginning at 5:00pm.
