Longo, Philip of Second Avenue Warwick, died peacefully
at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born on July 2, 1927, Phil was the son of the late John and Maria (Mezzagatti) Longo. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Fugere) Longo. They would have celebrated 60 years married this October. Phil was the devoted father of Jo-Ann Galli, and her husband
Jim, and Carol Castergine and her husband Jimmy. He was also "Poppa" to his adored granddaughters, Joyelle Galli,
and Jennifer (Galli) Sawicky and her husband Thomsen. He was the loving brother of Frank (Ellen) Longo, John Longo, and Carmella (Larry) Colaluca. Phil was the brother-in-law of Gladys (Dick) Kearns, Barbara (George) Mitchell, and Robert (Betsy) Fugere and the late Richard Fugere. He also leaves several nieces and nephews along with many cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday September 2nd at 11:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-11:00am. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that contributions in Philip's name be made to The Rhode Island Chapter Alzheimer's Association 245 Waterman Street Suite 306 Providence, RI 02906.
