Donald J. Hey

Donald J. Hey 85, of Cranston passed away on Monday December 4, 2017 with his wife Janis (Fish) Hey by his side. They were married for 62 years. Donald was the son of the late Ashton and Elizabeth (Premo) Hey. Besides his wife, he leaves 4 daughters; Nancy Kellermann and husband Jeffrey, Barbara Hague and husband James, Joanne Hey-Kenyon, Susan Byrne and husband Patrick, 8 grandsons; Ryan and Andrew Kellermann, Michael and Matthew Hague, Christopher and David Kenyon, Jonathan and Daniel Byrne and was the proud great grandfather of Madison Hague and Mason Kellermann. He is also survived by his twin brother Ronald Hey of Wakefield, where they grew up with his large family on Main Street. Donald was a graduate of South Kingstown High School and the University of Rhode Island (class of 1959). After 4 years in the United States Navy he worked for many years in the insurance industry for the former Insurance Company of North America later known as CIGNA. He also greatly enjoyed his 2 years on the Wakefield Police force while in college. He was a great family man and will be in his loved ones memories forever. A private funeral service and burial will take place in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.

Jan, I was shocked when I saw the obituary in today’s paper. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Don was a great guy . We have been neighbors for so many years. He will truly be missed.
