James D. Porreca
James D. Porreca 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 24, 2018. He was the husband of Linda D. (Mills) Porreca for 43 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Yolanda (Figliuzzi) Porreca. James was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked for many years as a carpenter and general contractor. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter Jacqueline Porreca of Cranston; two grandchildren, Michael Carbary and Julia Fonseca; a sister, Paula Porreca of North Providence; a great-granddaughter; a brother and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his devoted canine companion, Jake. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00am from The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Matthew Church 1299 Elmwood Avenue Cranston. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Pawtuxet Memorial Park Warwick. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00pm In lieu of flowers memorial gifts to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Miriam Hospital 164 Summit Avenue Fain Building 3rd Floor Providence, RI 02906 will be appreciated.

You know we loved Jim. He was a quiet, gentle man who loved you all dearly. You are a lucky family to have had him for the years you did. He will be remembered always.
