Lora I. Miller
Lora I. Miller, 93 of Cranston, Rhode Island passed away on July 12th at the home of her daughter in Sarasota, Florida after a 7 month illness. She was born to John E. and Alice (Hardacre) DeGrasse, in Providence RI. She was married to the late Robert W. Miller for 49 years. Most of her life was spent in Cranston, surrounded by friends and family. She is survived by her sisters, Mildred Dimsey and Elizabeth Coronel of California, and a brother Robert DeGrasse. She was predeceased by her sisters, baby Dorothy and Eleanor Nadrowski, brother John DeGrasse, and a grandson, William Nadeau. She was the mother of four daughters, Barbara Bager (Wendell), Jean Nadeau (Joe), Carol Scott (Al) and Dr Linda Miller. She had 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She bore two sets of 5 generations, and one set of 4 generations. She worked in the jewelry industry for most of her life, retiring at the age of 65 and again at 81. She enjoyed travelling, cross-stitch, knitting and was an award winning quilter. She was also an avid reader. In Rhode Island, she was a member of two womens’ clubs, the V.V.V. and the B Naturals.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial committal services will be held on FRIDAY at 11:00am in The Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
