Richard T. Steiner
Steiner, Richard T. "Rick" 68, passed away peacefully on Friday February 15th at Steere House in Providence. For those that knew him, he will always be remembered for his infectious smile and personality.
He was born on November 15, 1950 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Ruth Stecker (Spear) and the late Franklin Steiner. Rick lived primarily in Cranston, Rhode Island with his family.
He graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and had a successful career in sales. He was a member of the Navy US National Reserves. Rick could always be found supporting his children at their events such as choir and sports. Additionally, Rick was involved in the community as a coach and Judo instructor. He will be remembered for spending time outside, listening to classic rock while working on his cars, meticulously manicuring his lawn, and walking the neighborhood while enjoying a cigar.
Family was of utmost importance to Rick, and the moments he enjoyed most were those spent with them. Whether it was over-looking the ocean by the beach house or watching his grandchildren play, he loved every moment. His smile and love for life, created an imprint on the hearts of so many, all of whom are grateful for having had him in their lives.
Besides his mother, Richard is survived by his children Dawn Parker, Heidi Bernard, Joel Steiner and his wife Dana, beloved grandchildren; Jonathan, Sarah, Madison, James, and Shane and his brother Gary Steiner. He was the former husband of Susan Tingley, brother of the late David Steiner and former father in law of Steven Bernard and the late William Parker.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 19th from 4:00-6:00pm. A Private Family Service will be held following the visitation.
