B. Eunice Sisson

Eunice was born in Providence, RI on January 31, 1927, a daughter of Alfred Gordon Evans and Laura Grace (Tilley) Evans. She was the sixth child in a family of eight children. Eunice is pre-deceased by her beloved husband David E. Sisson and her siblings Marion Gorville, Lillian Legge, Lois Bradshaw, Shirley Cantone, and Alfred Evans Jr. Her surviving sisters are Roberta Rasch of Maine and Dorothy Reynolds of California. Eunice was in the Civil Air Patrol during WWII. During her working years, she had careers in banking and as a medical secretary. Eunice had a life long love of the sea and spent many a happy day aboard her grandparent’s boat “The Gypsy” cruising, fishing and swimming in Narragansett Bay with her parents, brother and sisters. She was a talented artist and singer, and had considered a career in music, but abandoned those pursuits for family life. Her creative talents and love of music were passed down to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was devoted to her husband and family throughout her life. She loved her family first and foremost and this was evident in all that she did. From preparing holiday dinners to watching a grandson’s soccer game, she was enthusiastic, loving, and dedicated to her loved ones and was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
She was a steadfast friend, and was always there in good times and bad. Eunice is survived by her children Patricia Holland, Jeanne Pearson, David Sisson, and Robert Sisson, and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her funeral and burial are private.

David Sisson-11/24/2011 - 11/24/2011

Dear Mom, This Sunday we are having a memorial dinner in your honor, just your children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Pat suggested we do it at your house. we are going to visit you and Dad at the Veterans Cemetery, then return to your house, where we will have some of your favorite foods, served on some of your favorite old serving dishes. Jeanne and Rob have been preparing the house. I decided I would go through all your old photos, looking for images of you to display on my digital picture frame for everyone to see. There in containers, and cabinets I found hundreds of photos from your childhood to the birth of your great grandchildren. It made my heart feel better to see the full life you had captured in pictures. You used to call yourself the camera lady, because you always documented our lives in pictures. Envelopes with your hand written notes, birthdays, graduations, weddings, holidays, ball games, and more. Although there were so many pictures, images of you were harder to find because you were always the one behind the lense, capturing the moments of our lives, understanding what they would mean to us in years to come. I sailed back through time in pictures, and my heart swelled with pride, seeing you young and strong and happy. You were our teacher, our guide, our strength, our tireless cheerleader, our best friend. So Sunday we will all gather around the old dining room table, in the old house, just one more time, with the spirits of all who went before us to celebrate your life. I am so proud of you Mom, and so thankful to have had a Mother like you. I miss you and love you. David

This year my grandma Dot was here again thankfully after leaving the nursing home, the first thing she mentioned was how she would miss talking to you while I cooked for everyone. I miss you too as does everyone, who's life you touched in such simple ways. You weren't able to attend our wedding or see us as husband and wife but I know you were waiting for it and that you were here with us today. Grams always know when there family is happy. In my rose garden of memories I see you standing there an angel in disguise who taught me how to care. I long to hear your voice for real and not in my dreams. I am missing you so much these days I can't bare how empty my world seems. People say time heals all wounds that someday the pain will subside, but Gram can I tell you I think they must have lied...the emptiness I am feeling is strong and I am weak..These days go by without you so dreary and so bleak..but in my Rose Garden of memories I know you'll always be..for though you're gone from this mortal world in my heart you'll always be.

Mary (Lou) Kilpeck Penedo - 11/27/2011

Dear Patty, Jeannie, David and Robbie. I was so saddened to hear about your mom. I will always remember coming into the kitchen where there was always something 'yummy' cooking and your mom's beautiful smile. Loved the way she laughed and even if we got the wagging index finger when we got into some mischief. Growing up on Garden Street, your house was my second home. Whether it was hanging out in the yard, lots of cookouts, "King of the Hill" or sitting on the big old porch, I often think of all of you and please know that you all have a special place in my heart. Your mom was not only beautiful but also had a great sense of humor (she had to with all of us hanging out all the time!) I picture her now wrapped in your dad's arms and they will be watching over all their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Love you all,
Mary Lou
