Marcelle Chatelain Montavon
Marcelle Chatelain Montavon 95, of 100 Fordson Avenue Cranston passed away on Wednesday March 6th at Avalon Nursing Home in Warwick.
Marcelle was born on February 7, 1924 in Tremelan, Switzerland to Joseph Montavon and Marie Ann (Charmillot) Montavon. She lived in Switzerland until 1948 when she moved to the United States. She proudly became an American Citizen in December of 1956.
Marcelle lived in Providence where she worked for many years at the Bulova Watch Company as an Quality Assurance Supervisor. She then moved to Cranston and became a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was involved in many charities and activities. She was presently a part of the family at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Marcelle is survived by daughters Anne-Marie (Chatelain) Marti and her husband Walter, Josee Davis and son Jeffery Chatelain, grandchildren, Michelle (Marti) Barrett and her husband Robert, Danielle (Marti) Lloyd and her husband Adam and Walter Marti III and his wife Sheri and seven great-grand children Katherine, Elizabeth, Maxwell, Amanda, Sophia, Lillian and Emily.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday March 13th at 11:00am in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 389 Greenwich Avenue Warwick. Burial will followin St. Pauls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Judes Childrens Hospital would be appreciated.
