Metcalfe, Annabelle 93, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday April 29, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander E. Metcalfe for 66 years. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Jane (Brown) Primmer. Annabelle moved to Rhode Island in the early 1940's and resided in Cranston for over 60 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed swimming, tennis, and bowling. She was a member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church. Annabelle was the loving mother of Christine Kendrick and her husband John of Cranston, Sally Hindson and her husband William of Cranston, and Stephen Metcalfe and his wife Christine of Pawlet, Vermont. Shewas the loving grandmother of Guy, Jessica, and Emily, and great-grandmother of Jacob and Annabella. She was the sister of Elizabeth Gorman, Donald Primmer, and the late Weston, Lewis, and Daniel Primmer. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm. Kindly omit flowers. She and Alex were such good friends with my Mom and Dad.
They had a lot of good times together. We always enjoyed seeing them in Williamstown and Myrtle Beach. Thru the years I've enjoyed calling her and will miss our conversations but there will always be a lot of great memories. Love from the Heisler and Martin Families
