Alvaro J. Ruiz

Alvaro J. Ruiz 67, of Pierce Avenue Warwick, unexpectedly passed away at home on Saturday February 7, 2026. He was a US Army Veteran. Born July 8,1958 in Medellin, Colombia he was the son of S. Carmen SantaMaria and Faustino Ruiz. Alvaro lived in Providence from the early 1970's until 2015 when he moved to Warwick. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1976 and attended Rhode Island College before joining the Army in 1979.

He is survived by his daughter Victoria Ruiz, sons Alvaro J. Ruiz Jr. and Alvaro A. Ruiz, grandchildren Odalys V. and William J. Ruiz, sister Victoria Ruiz SantaMaria, nieces Victoria, Jacquelyn Martinez, and nephew Fernando Martinez.  

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday February 12, 2026 at 10:30am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.  Burial will be on TUESDAY February 17, 2026 at 1:30pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, Massachusetts.
