Edward James Hanley III 80, of Cranston, entered into eternal life on January 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ana M. Hanley for 56 years. He graduated from LaSalle Academy and Bryant College. Ed was a Vietnam veteran and served his country with pride. After serving in Vietnam, he was a salesman with Kraft Foods and enjoyed a successful career in sales until retiring. Ed was a passionate football and lacrosse referee, as well as a recreational golfer.
Besides his wife Ed leaves two sons Edward J. Hanley IV, and wife Kristin, Sean P. Hanley and wife Dawn, two grandchildren William and AnaClaire Hanley. He is reunited with his granddaughter, Mia Catherine Hanley in heaven. In addition, he leaves his sister Linda Hanley of Cranston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 15, 2026 at 10:00am in the Holy Apostles Church 800 Pippen Orchard Road Cranston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 14, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
