George Thibault 78, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 12, 2025 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Beverley L. Thibault.
George was Army through and through, after being deployed at age 17 to Vietnam, as a part of the First Cavalry Division, he continued to work for many years as a Supply Sergeant for the Army National Guard at Quonset Point Military Base. After retirement, he went on to perform military honors at wakes and funerals for other veterans who had passed on. If you were family or a friend to George, you knew that he was a man’s man. He loved going to the gun range, playing a round of golf with his son whenever possible but most of all he loved his billiards. His friends knew him best as a “Sandbagger” a title he was quite proud of! But most of all he was that guy who walked in the room and lit it up whether it was with his smile, his silly strut or one of the many corny jokes he told on a daily. If you’ve ever been to a diner with him and heard a waitress ask him how he wanted his eggs, his response would always be…on a plate. LOL! If you’ve ever asked him for something it would always cost a quarter until inflation hit and then he upped his price to a dollar. He was one of the funniest most B-busting men you’ll ever know, and we all adored him for it.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind his son Jason Thibault and wife Shae, daughters Michelle Houghton and Christina Carr as well as five grandchildren, Korina, Victoria, Amber, Jae and Alyssa and one great grandchild, Gwenevere.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 18, 2025 from 10:00am - 12:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 12:00pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
