Gloria M. (Roberge) Garvin 97, of Providence passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. Gloria lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, strength, and devotion to her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick C. Garvin as well as her children James Garvin, Joan Tanzi, and Deborah Garvin.
For the last five years of her life, Gloria resided at Wingate Living in Providence, where she truly embraced her community. She proudly served as the neighborhood ambassador, forming special bonds with residents and staff alike. Gloria filled her days with crafting, cooking, enjoying music, and living life to the fullest. Her warmth, vibrant spirit, and welcoming nature made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving sons, Robert and Steven Garvin, who will continue to cherish her memory and the many lessons she shared throughout her life. She also leaves behind her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gloria will be remembered for her resilience, her love of family, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday February 26, 2026 at 6:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice
